CK Architectural have created a new online design package for our customers. We can provide the same great service without the need to visit your home.

CK Architectural York is offering you the same great service as always as an online service. Quicker, and cheaper than the need for home visits, we are passing on the savings to you. Our team of design experts with over 100 years of combined industry knowledge is ready to guide you through the full process and explore the different possibilities that your home can achieve.

A fully-staffed support team is ready to talk to you about your project every step of the way, giving you the exact same experience as a local architectural firm may do but all more convenient and more safely than ever before.

Step 1 – Free property assessment report & no obligation quote

Our online guide includes everything required to get you started. Just answer the simple questions and send us some photos.

Once we have all the required information, we will provide a 4-page property assessment report. This will include the following:

  • Write up on your ideas plus our own.
  • Type of planning application and costs
  • Building control requirements and application costs
  • Likelihood of gaining planning permission
  • Point out any building control issues
  • Build estimate
  • Structural engineer requirements
  • Itemised quotation and payment schedule
  • Flow chart of progression

Step 2 – Self survey guide

Once you’re happy with our advice and price, we will send you the self-survey pack, this is a step by step guide on what measurements and photos we need to draw your house accurately. Don’t worry this is easier than you may think, and someone is always available if you get stuck and need advice.

Step 3 – Concept design

Next we will draw your home accurately using the measurements provided along with your project brief to guide us. We will produce the existing floor plans along with your first concept design.

Step 4 – Developed design

Once the concept design has been agreed we can then develop the design in more detail, considering all the site information, planning, building control and any budget restrictions. Developing the design to your satisfaction will be done online by email, screenshare, Skype, video chat or WhatsApp whichever method is available to you and the easiest.

Step 5 – Approvals planning & building control

The finalised design will be prepared and submitted to the local council for planning approval, acting as your agent and keeping you updated during the process. We shall then organise your detailed Building Regulation drawings and submit them to Building Control.

    For someone far removed from the building / planning industries the thought of where to start when thinking of a big extension project to my house (two story to the side and wrap around of semi-detached 3 bed) was a little daunting at first. Luckily, after obtaining a competitive quote, I enlisted the services of CK Architectural and have been very impressed with not only the service received but the ease at which they have made the whole process. After listening to my thoughts and the reasons for needing the extension work doing, the architect came up with a great design that encompassed everything that was needed. Even when I changed my mind over a couple of aspects, Donna, Chris and the team were quick to administer any alterations. Every visit to the house for measurements / planning etc has happened without a hitch with all members of the team we've encountered being punctual and professional at all times. The best thing has been by far the ease at which CK have made of getting all council and local authority sign off for the project. All I have needed to do is pay the fees at the required time, no stress involved and all went through seamlessly. I'm now at the stage where I have the drawings to hand and have submitted them to builders to obtain quotes. Importantly, the feedback so far from the builders indicates the project to be within the budget specifications I explained to CK during the first consultation. Very happy customer 🙂 Carl.
