The building regulation process
1. A comprehensive set of plans and building regulations drawings are submitted to building control (local authority or private inspector). They will assess and check to make sure that all the necessary building regulations information is shown on the plans. They will also make sure that it fully complies with the Building Regulations.
2. If amendments are required, the local authority or private inspector will inform the applicant (or agent) of any changes needed. Once resubmitted and approval has been received, work can begin on site.
3. Throughout the build process, a building Inspector will visit the site to regulate the build at the following stages – Foundation, Drains and DPC (Damp Proof Course).
